To support medical regulatory authorities worldwide in protecting the public interest by promoting high standards for physician education, licensure and regulation, and facilitating the ongoing exchange of information among medical regulatory authorities.

Organizational Goals

  • Advocate and promote high standards for medical education, physician evaluation and assessment, licensure, medical practice and professional conduct;
  • Facilitate international cooperation and collaboration among medical regulatory authorities, including a network for the regular exchange of medical licensing and disciplinary information;
  • Provide a forum for the development and sharing of new concepts and new approaches in the regulation of medical practice;
  • Encourage and support research, policy analysis and policy development related to medical licensure and regulation.

2010 IAMRA CONFERENCE ON MEDICAL REGULATION

In addition to registering for the conference, you can make your hotel reservations and view conference-related travel information.

The focus of the conference is "Best Practices in Medical Regulation," and will include interactive programs on registration and licensure, complaints and resolutions, and quality assurance (currency of competence/maintenance of licensure). An optional, pre-conference workshop addressing fundamental topics in medical regulation will be offered on the afternoon of September 26.

"International Best Practices in Physician Assessment and Remediation"

The Coalition for Physician Enhancement (CPE) and International Physician Assessment Coalition (IPAC) are pleased to announce a joint meeting immediately following IAMRA's 9th Biennial Conference on Medical Regulation in Philadelphia, PA USA.

This meeting is designed for individuals working with physician performance assessment and education programs, medical regulators, and others interested in quality assurance. The agenda will feature international speakers on assessment and remediation topics as well as workshops on case-based discussion, remediation and direct observation of physicians in practice. A 1/2 day of scientific papers and poster presentations is also planned.

International Physician Assessment Coalition (IPAC) is an international forum designed to encourage collaboration and best practice in the assessment of practicing physicians and the remediation of physicians who are performing poorly.

Coalition for Physician Enhancement (CPE) is a consortium of professionals with expertise in quality assurance, medical education, and the assessment, licensing, and accreditation of referred physicians seeking higher levels of performance in patient care.
