Emerging COVID-19 Challenges for the Safety and Standards of Patient Care
This webinar will take place on December 10, 2020 at 7:30 pm Greenwich Mean Time/UTC (1:30 pm Central Standard Time in Dallas, Texas, USA).
Beyond dealing with the immediate and pressing health system impacts, the COVID -19 pandemic and the resulting lockdowns are raising new, longer-term challenges for medical regulation globally. In this interactive webinar we will explore these emerging impacts and the response of medical regulators in different countries.
Topics to explore will include the mental health of doctors and implications for fitness to practice processes; the impact of delayed care for patients and concerns raised with regulators; the rapid rise of telehealth and new regulatory challenges; the accountability of doctors in clinical governance to ensure safe patient care; and the role and expectations of medical regulators once we have a vaccine.
